When possible we do try to accommodate guests by giving them an opportunity to purchase an extra day at a discounted rate to provide the flexibility they desire. • What do the Beach Flags mean? Tell me about Rip Currents!

BEACH WARNING FLAGS / RIP CURRENTS / TIDES AND WEATHER Stay safe. Know the beach flags. Safety should be your top priority when swimming in the Gulf of Mexico. The color-coded beach flags are in place to keep the public aware of sea conditions. Remember, double red means stay out of the water - you could be fined and face criminal charges for ignoring this warning! So stay aware, and have fun on our gorgeous Florida beaches! Double Red- Danger! Water Closed to Public Single Red-High Hazard, High Surf and/or Strong Current Yellow-Medium Hazard, Moderate Surf and/or Currents Green-Low Hazard, Calm Conditions, Exercise Caution Purple-Dangerous Marine Life (Usually Jellyfish) *Absence of Beach Flags Does Not Assure Safe Waters. For PCB: If you'd like text alerts when the flags change you can sign up by texting "PCBFLAGS" to 888777 For Walton Co (Sandestin, 30A, Miramar Beach): For Gulf conditions and flag updates, text "SAFETY" to 31279 For Destin: Text BEACH to 44144 Beware of Rip Currents: A rip current is a powerful channel of water flowing away from shore. While they cannot always be spotted, one of the best visual indicators of a rip current is a gap between waves. If caught in a rip current do not swim against it. This is commonly an individual’s initial instinct. Swim out of the current then swim at an angle or toward the shore. Always swim parallel to the shore when attempting to swim out of the rip current. If you can’t escape, float or calmly tread water. Tide & Weather Information: Before you head to the beach, check the tide tables and solunar tables for the Emerald Coast. You can get the forecast for high tides, low tides, hours of maximum fish activity, weather conditions, and other useful information at tides4fishing.com.
